WHY I SHOOT BOUDOIR

I am not a words smith by any means, I struggle sometimes to put things into words and put it in a way that everyone can understand the emotion behind it.

so here is goes...why I shoot Boudoir!

To me it is so much more than images. I it is about self-acceptance, body positivity, art and self-love. It is about getting glammed up and laughing our butts off. It is about the transformation that takes place between walking in the door of the studio and walking back out after the shot. I it about feeling beautiful, something every person deserves.

I started shooting boudoir, because I saw beauty in everyone, in the studio, the grocery store and even that sports parks. This is where I spend my extra time!

I believe that I could show any person what I see though my camera. Women tell me they feel they can not look "That Beautiful" because they feel some sort of insecurity about them selves. Too tall, weight, scars or stretch marks.  I love when I get the chance to show them and image from their shoot and showing them that in fact "THEY CAN" feel and are beautiful.

Seeing their reactions to their images changed me. From then on, I knew I had found my passion.

It was not my job to be a mirror for my clients. Not the mirror that would show their imperfections and insecurities, but the one that sees past those imperfection and shows pride in their beauty and the true woman in the reflection,

Then the shoot would start. When I show the client and image on the back of the camera during our first series of images, I usually hear "Oh My Gosh, that's me?. NO WAY, that's!!" Then the laughter and smiles really begin, she starts to feel sexy and that they are really starting to connect with themselves.

By the time we finish the session we are friends, we have shared and experience that they will always remember. we have laughed and shared stories about our lives and loved ones.

We are reunited  a few weeks later for their in person reveal. We start with a short slide show to feature some of their images. we then move on to viewing their whole gallery. Once I show them their images on the screen their jaws drop. They see themselves like they never have before. This is truly the most amazing thing about boudoir photography. the atmosphere in the room at the moment is absolutely pure.
